Howrah, 28 October, 2024: Ahead of Diwali celebrations, Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Howrah mobilized youth volunteers in the local market of Jagatballavpur block at Tripurapur market place and a seminar on vigilance day. The program emphasized the importance of integrity, transparency, and accountability in both personal and public life. During the seminars, participants were encouraged to participate in open discussions, share perspectives, and raise questions about vigilance and anti-corruption measures. More than 50 youth participants aimed at educating and inspiring youth to actively contribute to a corruption-free society. Followed by the seminar Clealiness initiative, in collaboration with society groups and businesses, brought together over 40 young volunteers, aiming to promote a clean and vibrant environment as Howrah prepares for one of the most significant festivals of the year. Under the guidance of NYK Howrah, the youth volunteers engaged in collecting litter, sweeping, waste segregation, encouraging locals and vendors alike to contribute to keeping their environment clean, aiming to instill a sense of responsibility within the community. Speaking about the initiative, district youth officer Miss Arunima shared, “We are thrilled to see such enthusiasm among our young people, who are setting a valuable example for the community. Diwali is a time to celebrate light and positivity, and these efforts by our youth volunteers help to ensure that our public spaces reflect the spirit of this festival.” A Local vegetable vendor Mr. Subroto mondal Said that such type of kind initiative make the market clean because of which automatically makes the buyer to come in the market more, eventually economy gets up.
